After finishing with the worst record in the league, general manager John Spytek didn't sit on his hands this offseason. The Raiders came out of free agency with one of the more well-reviewed classes in the league, headlined by moves on both sides of the ball.

Offense

The marquee addition is center Tyler Linderbaum, who graded out at A to A- across multiple outlets for the protection and run-blocking support he brings to the middle of the line - exactly what a rookie quarterback like Fernando Mendoza needs in front of him. Wide receiver Jalen Nailor also drew an A grade for his versatility in an expanded role, and fullback Connor Heyward was brought in to help stabilize the run game.

Defense

The Raiders paired former Georgia teammates Nakobe Dean and Quay Walker at linebacker, with Dean grading anywhere from B to A- as an impact blitzer despite a history of injuries. Kwity Paye adds depth off the edge, while the team also brought back Eric Stokes at cornerback and Malcolm Koonce as an edge rusher.

Rounding it out

Kicker Matt Gay, tight end Ian Thomas, defensive tackle Thomas Booker IV, and guard Spencer Burford round out the notable additions and re-signings. Most outlets landed on an A- to B+ grade for the class overall, with particular praise for how Linderbaum's leadership fits new head coach Klint Kubiak's system.

On paper, this is exactly the kind of offseason a team coming off the league's worst record needs: real investment at the positions that were the biggest problems a year ago. Whether it translates to wins is the only grade that will matter once the season starts.
